Things Learned from Saturday Morning Cartoons

As I mentioned in a previous story, I still love watching the old Saturday morning cartoons, even at my ripe old age of 52. The nostalgia and memories of a big bowl of cereal watching the cartoons are still priceless. That said, here are some things learned from watching those cartoons, as an “adult”.

  1. Never buy anything from the ACME company. The poor coyote. The stock in the ACME company must have been through the roof in the Looney Tunes world. Almost every character bought things from them. Although their “legal department” must have had a lot of calls, especially from said coyote, who seemed to always get the “defective” stock items purchased. He seemed to retain a lot of injuries from them.
  2. Gravity is real for everyone. I always love these scenes, especially in the Looney Tunes world, where the various characters can, when realized, fall victim to the pulls of gravity. In one cartoon, when Elmer Fudd, was a baby, he did not know about gravity and escaped its pull. But once he was “educated on it”, he was bound by its unmerciful pull.
  3. Never tick off carnival or lighthouse workers. Scooby Doo was another favorite cartoon of mine. It was always amazing how many of the “monsters” were jilted carnival workers or lighthouse operators. This just goes to show, it always pays to be nice to people whomever they are or what they do. You never know when, or if, they have a hidden disguise fetish and want to haunt places.

I hope you enjoyed, my first attempt, at a humorous writing. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
